Interactive Blog Map!

I’m positively dizzy with excitement! You all know of my weakness for interactive maps of any kind. And after seeing some Clustrmaps on some other blogs, I decided I had to get one of my very own. I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for it to update my visitors (all 7!) at the end of the day, so I get to see where everyone is coming from.

I’m pretty sure the fact that this will be the highlight of my day makes me a very big nerd.

My kids have inherited this thing I have for maps/gathering information/categorizing. This year at the Golf Championships, The Golfer brought a yellow USKG flag and gathered signatures from kids all over the world. It was one of the highlights for all of us, especially when we realized he had signatures from all 6 continents (yes, we know there are 7, but we excluded Antarctica due to the fact that there aren’t lots of kid golfers down there!). He especially loved the signature from the Chinese kid, since he signed it in Chinese. At the opening ceremony, there were 47 individual country flags from the different countries represented by kid golfers, and then 50 state flags for the kids in the US. It was around these flags that The Golfer collected his autographs. It was unschooling geography at it’s best!

And here we are with the autographed USKG flag:

Tonight, after dinner, you’ll find the kids and I hovered around our new blog Clustrmap…checking out if we can get some visitors from every continent. Even Antarctica!
